SONIC® America’s Drive-In strongly believes in giving back to the community and working closely with area schools and organizations. SONIC doesn't consider community involvement a self-serving act, but as a way to have a positive impact on the community. Accent on Kids (AOK) is the bridge that brings SONIC together with these groups.
AOK focuses on the betterment of all kids in three major areas of their lives: developing educational skills, encouraging them to get up and move, and stressing the importance of parent-child interaction.
Through AOK programs, SONIC Drive-Ins work closely with youth organizations – such as educational groups, sports teams, and more – to recognize and reward academic and athletic achievements. These organizations have access to complimentary SONIC goodies that can be used for fundraising efforts, achievement and appreciation recognition, and other fun outreach programs.
On behalf of your local SONIC Drive-In, thank you for the opportunity to partner with your organization. We love to contribute to the efforts of those who serve our kids and truly value having a role in childhood education, growth, and development.
SONIC's heritage is routed in people, whether that's providing great food and friendly service to our guests, employing the best of the best in our industry, or giving back to the local community.
We work where you live, so we believe in being good neighbors. We owe it to our community members to provide them with support so they can continue to grow and thrive. It’s a cycle of greatness from which we all benefit.
Your local SONIC Drive-In operators don't consider community involvement a sales gimmick or a public relations ploy. They see it as a way to have a positive impact on their community. It's not just good business; it's the right thing to do.

All SONIC Drive-In locations support AOK programs, but each one has different options available. This website specifically promotes the programs run by SONIC Drive-Ins that are part of the D.L. Rogers Corp. franchise group.
D.L. Rogers Corp. (DLR) is a family-owned SONIC Drive-In franchisee, currently with 260 Drive-Ins located in ten states: Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.
DLR was founded by Don L. Rogers in March 1967 when he opened his first SONIC
Drive-In in Eureka, Kansas and he slowly began to open more locations throughout the years. Don's eldest son, Darrell, took over the helm in 1983 upon Don's passing. After Don's passing, Darrell – along with his team of Partners, Supervisors, Directors, and executives – continued to expand the business by building new stores and acquiring
SONIC Drive-Ins through acquisitions.
Darrell’s daughter, Shawn, joined DLR in 2005 and his son, Chris, joined in 2008. Darrell announced his retirement in 2018 and Shawn now serves as Chairman/Chief Executive Officer while Chris is Senior Vice President of Corp. & Real Estate/Managing Member of DLR Family Investments LLC.
All DLR-owned SONIC Drive-Ins participate in the AOK programs discussed on this website. Contact us with any AOK questions.
